Orphan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary

Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a no-kill, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue. We are a network of foster homes and also have a small Adoption Center located at 810 S. Commercial St. in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Adoption hours: May is "Pay the Day" for all adult cat adoptions! Wednesdays 5-7pm and Sundays 11-2pm. Please note: adoptable dogs are generally not on-site during open hours due to living in private foster homes.

Our dream for 2012 is to build a humble "Dog-House" at the Pet Adoption Center. This very simple space would allow the homeless dogs of OARS a place of their own to meet potential new families, receive vaccinations and medical care and offer a central location to provide food, supplies and temporary shelter. The picture above is just an example and we've received a $7,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to launch this dream. Can you help us reach our goal of $25,000? Thank yous to the caring, generous individuals and businesses who support the homeless pets of OARS

We were delighted that we won $2,500 through the Charity Challenge! These critical funds will keep the heat on and doors open at the Pet Adoption Center though the bitter winter months by paying the mortgage and utilities from January through March! We certainly couldn't do it without the support of the community and we are absolutely driven to ensure that each pet that comes into our care is safe until they find a home, even if it means staying with us. Little Poppy (picture attached) was sealed in a duct-taped box in our parking lot on a cold, wet night. A volunteer found her in the box next to her car late one evening. We were able to provide the care she needed and ensure she was healthy and happy and now Poppy is simply waiting for a home of her own. On behalf of Poppy, another 60 cats, dogs and rabbits and 40 volunteers and hundreds of adopters - THANK YOU! This gift has meant so much and we are eternally grateful.
